Purpose of Position
The Lead Warehouseman is responsible for disposition of material in the warehouse and associated operational areas of the Cooperative and includes assisting in inventory control processes and serving as a support member for crews. Serves as a lead worker and mentors and trains other Warehousemen.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Receives and controls inventory, dispenses tools and materials, salvages and recovers high-value items (such as copper, aluminum, and tools for repair), and is responsible for general housekeeping to optimize stock levels, minimize discrepancies, and facilitate accurate record keeping.
- Receives freight deliveries, checks packing slips, and writes receiving reports. Enters receiving reports and posts to purchase orders as allowed by the computer system. Uses forklift to unload freight and move to storage areas.
- Serves as a support member for the crews, maintaining organized inventory, facilitating smooth material flow, and supporting overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Gathers, issues, and returns materials for work orders and to line personnel as per staking sheets.
- Provides proper maintenance and care of all warehouse facilities, grounds, and warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, buildings, hand trucks, shelving, and bins.
- Assists in coordinating compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements regarding testing transformers for PCB content and other hazardous materials. Helps complete and maintain accurate records and reports.
- May fill non-lineman position as needed after KEC has provided employee qualified worker training.
- Perform turns ratio test and visual inspection of line transformers.
- Serves as a lead worker and mentors and trains other Warehousemen. May assist in scheduling work and directing work activities in the absence of the Operations Services Superintendent.

Job Requirements:
- Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years of Warehousing or Inventory control experience at KEC.
- Prefer experience with building maintenance
- Knowledge and Skill
- Excellent leadership skills, including solving problems and making sound decisions.
- Knowledge and adherence to KEC policies and procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use a variety of tools including, but not limited to, air, hydraulic, and electrically powered hand tools.
- Ability to use the computer, two-way radio, pickup, line truck, and fork lift.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a commercial driver's license class A (CDL) endorsement, current driver medical certificate and must acquire and maintain a first-aid/CPR card and be a qualified fork lift operator.
- Must have a solid knowledge of math, such as percentages and fractions.
- Must be flexible, organized, decisive, and able to take the initiative in problem-solving.
- Must demonstrate the ability and personality to effectively promote a pleasant working atmosphere among associates.
