SCOPE:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for general accounting functions including, but not limited to, monthly account reconciliations, month end close, A/R, A/P and financial reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and process bank reconciliations for all property and home entities accurately and on a timely basis.
- Work with other accounting departments to resolve open items; cross train with other Accountants to support the department as necessary.
- Perform monthly close process in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, including inter-company eliminations, expense accruals, prepaid expenses and depreciation.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responsible for explaining monthly fluctuations in account balances.
- Assist Accounting Manager and Controller as needed.
- Completes additional special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 – 5 years of relevant experience;
- College degree in Accounting or Finance;
- CPA preferred;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Process oriented;
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and adept at learning new software programs;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize multiple assignments;
- Able to work independently and as a team member;
- Results driven;

COMPENSATION: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00/Yr (Based on experience)
