Door Installer, Woodworker & Finisher (Lead Trainee) Job Description
Door Renew is seeking hard-working and positive personalities to work alongside skilled craftsman and contribute with existing skills such as familiarity with hand tools, staining, painting, and top coating, to restore our customers' entryways and other valuable property. As a painter and stainer, you will be required to examine the product, identify damaged areas, disassemble the basic parts, and smooth or shape as required for staining & finishing. You will also be required to stain and finish to achieve the desired color and sheen. In addition, you will be required to uninstall the customer’s door or property from their home and return the finished product to the customer and reinstall the product.
To ensure success as a finisher for wood, fiberglass, and metal, you should have woodworking skills, knowledge of finishing techniques, and a good eye for detail. A door refinisher should expertly restore and finish wooden or fiberglass items to meet the needs of the client. Occasionally, you may also be expected to support business development from potential clients.

Installer & Finisher (Lead Trainee) Responsibilities:
- Driving vehicles to and from customer homes.
- Meeting with the customer to discuss finishing and color requirements.
- Disassembling the hardware of the door.
- Inspecting the door for rot and physical damage.
- Repairing broken parts, removing imperfections, and filling in cracks.
- Removing old finishings and excess solvent.
- Sanding and smoothing the item in preparation for finishing.
- Selecting and applying finishing lubricants such as varnish, stains, or lacquer.
- Inspecting the refurbished product and completing job reports.
- Speaking with customers to provide positive assurance and obtain recommendations and reviews
Installer & Finisher (Lead Trainee) Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, Associates or higher preferred.
- Certificate in Woodworking Technology
- Previous experience as a Wood Finisher is preferred
- Strong attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of staining and finishing techniques.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Advanced design skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with hand and power tools.

Compensation for FULL-TIME and PART-TIME opportunities:
$17-$21/hr based on experience
Workshop is located in downtown Orlando
