Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults. Position Summary
The Evening Lead Therapist will act as the designee of the Director when the director is not on site. The Evening Lead Therapist will also be responsible for their Therapist's duties. The PHP/IOP Therapist is responsible for conducting therapeutic services for out-patient patients. They provide group counseling sessions. PHP/IOP Therapists are responsible for interviewing and developing the psychological history, assessing the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, developing appropriate treatment objectives and treatment summaries. PHP/IOP Therapists act as the patients' and families' primary contact while the patient is participating in an out-patient program, as well as their advocate with the treatment team. The PHP/IOP Therapists are also liaisons with outside agencies and individuals for the purpose of developing and coordinating discharge planning with the treatment team and family.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in order to document assessments, treatment planning and interventions into a meaningful document.
  • Must be able to communicate with members of the interdisciplinary treatment team, managed care representatives, children, adolescents, adults and patient families in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics and techniques as related to cultural, social, economic, communication and role expectations within family systems.
  • Knowledge of clinical skills to assess treatment dynamics accurately and develop effective treatment strategies within the overall treatment plan.
  • Employees assigned to children and adolescents must have the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of child and adolescent needs, knowledge of growth and developmental stages and must possess an understanding of the range of treatment needed by this age group.
  • Demonstrated competency in Therapeutic Boundaries, Search and Contraband, Risk Management, Infection Control, Common Psychiatric Diagnoses, Fire Safety. Behavioral Management, Programming and Documentation.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health counseling.
  • Current license from the state of Florida, such as LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC required.
  • Three (3) years direct clinical experience specific to family, individual and group therapy with adults adolescents and/or children with psychiatric diagnoses.
  • For specialized issues or treatment modalities, training must be specific to these; abuse reactive, sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, vocational, play therapy, art therapy. Must have knowledge of human development over the life span.
