Job Summary and Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree); Bachelor Degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years Respiratory Therapist Experience; critical care and intubation experience preferred.
• Current Florida license as (RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist or (CRT) Certified Respiratory Therapist
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required. New hires/transfers must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required. New hires/transfers must obtain within 6 months of hire.

Your duties and responsibilities may include:

• You will be responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation.
• You must be self-directed in the absence of the full-time Team Leader.
• You will maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given.
• You will set up and administer all routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures to patients of all ages.

HCA Florida Blake Hospital is a 383 bed hospital. We are located in Bradenton, FL. We have a thirteen acre campus by the Gulf Coast beaches. We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. We have received verification by the American College of Surgeons. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, open-heart surgery, burn care, cancer care, joint replacement and inpatient rehabilitation.
