Lead Teacher/ Classroom Supervisor

The person selected for this position will be responsible for the general supervision and management of a class of children between the ages of 6 weeks-12 years. This person may also be designated to assume the duties of the Director at times when the Director or Assistant Director is not present. The candidate must meet all Child Care Administration Requirements. Lead Teachers holding a degree in Child Care Administration is preferred but not required. Must have one year’s experience in an early childhood setting. Lead Teachers must be sensitive, mature individuals who are able to relate well to children and adults and must have the personality and ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity.

Lead Teachers are responsible for the following: planning, supervising and implementing Brilliant Brains Learning Center curriculum and program in the classroom. Providing for individualized programming for each child in the group. Understanding and considering the individual child in relation to his/her cultural and socio-economic background. Treat each child with dignity and respect. Helping each child become aware of his/her role as an integral member of a group. Being responsible for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor and learning environment of the classroom. Effectively communicate with parents about the child’s progress. Supervise the classroom support team and positive staff relationships. Assist with new staff training and effectively evaluate their strengths and weaknesses facilitate parent-teacher conferences. Attend all staff meetings and required or recommended staff training programs
