Summary:
This is a full-time Lead Shop Technician position based out of Robstown, Texas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to the Shop Manager and mentorship to Shop Technicians working on various jobs
Offer technical expertise and leadership in performing skilled tasks, including maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a wide range of natural gas engines and compressors
Coordinate with team members, management, and customers to ensure timely and budgeted project completion
Manage multiple projects, communicate deliverables, and report progress
Troubleshoot and diagnose all levels of the compressor system, optimizing compression equipment performance
Ensure compliance with all company and customer policies and procedures
Complete necessary paperwork as directed and report progress
Continuously develop skills in line with technological advances in the industry
Work effectively in a team environment as a contributing team leader and independently when required
Clearly communicate challenges, failures, and successes
Maintain a professional demeanor in line with industry standards
Qualifications:

Proficient in compressor and engine maintenance
Troubleshooting skills for general electronic and mechanical control problems
Mechanical aptitude
Availability to work set hours
Successful completion of drug-related and background testing
Possession of a full set of hand tools as defined by company standards
Good written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to attend training classes and/or seminars as required
General computer skills with the ability to use the computer as an appropriate diagnostic tool
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED
formal vocational training
Ten to Fifteen years of experience
Caterpillar and Waukesha engine experience
Experience with Ariel, GE, and other gas compressors
Knowledge of emissions controls, Control Panel, and I&E systems
Skills:
Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain an acceptable driving record
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift heavy objects
Extended periods of standing
Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
