Valid Level 2 or 3 Security Guard Arizona or New Mexico Certification
3 years experience as a Security Guard.
2 years lead experience.
Military Background preferred.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all Security Guard duties and oversees Security Guards assigned to a shift.
Plans, schedules, organizes, monitors and directs work, training personnel, and recommending applicants for training opportunities or corrective action.
Monitors and arranges shift activities according to schedule requirements and staff availability. Establishes and coordinates work schedules and post coverage.
Conducts inspections of various security posts to ensure on-duty Security Guards are properly performing their assigned task.
Oversees overtime events. Arranges staffing for each position, monitor visitors, and vendors. Responsible for all aspects of the event from start to finish.
Monitors all video surveillance, access control, security/intrusion and fire alarm systems.
Frequently check security systems for proper operation.
Provides work guidance, instruction, or orientation of others.
Trains and enforces approved security and safety regulations at the work sites.
Executes procedures and processes to provide physical protection for personnel and company property.
Communicates clearly and effectively with management, employees, and customers.
Ensures that all Security Guards assigned to a shift meet all grooming and uniform standards.
Reviews incidents reports for clarity, correctness and submits for supervisor/manager approval.
Recommends to the Security Supervisor ways to improve physical security and/or correct department function.
Maintains a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
Serve as the primary contact when Security Guard supervisor or manager is not on-site.
Identifies and reports operational problems.
Maintains record of Security Guard activities
Conducts briefings at the start of new shifts to inform Security Guards of pertinent information regarding campus and safety/security matters.
Responds to alarms and dispatched calls; decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known, and position limitations.
Assist and support internal investigations when required to.
Provides protection to self and others including administration of First Aid as required.
On occasion will conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities to identify and report damage and potential security risks.
Maintains records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Prepares or assists with the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical and narrative reports; performs information gathering and analysis and/or forecasting, as specifically directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
