What you do:
TheLead Quality Technician will ensure quality goals are
met through an operational and analytical focus, an attention to detail, defect detection and
corrective/preventative action, and strong internal partnerships with the production department.

The Lead Quality Technician will:
- Be responsible for monitoring and
- Maintain key indicators of product quality and safety through inspection, testing and communication.
- Ensure the operations and procedures on the plant floor meet and align with Roskam’s corporate quality policy and finished product complies with designated quality standards. This includes food safety and quality programs, HACCP, allergen control, ingredient control, GMP’s, document control, traceability, product quality reviews, and corrective/preventative actions.
- Be responsible for reporting any deviations in quality processes to the quality and/or departmental leadership.
- Monitor key food safety and quality controls/parameters
- Ability to use variety of quality inspection tools
- Document and report out of specification conditions
- Maintain quality records, complete quality paperwork
- Assist with internal auditing program
- Participate in food safety and quality investigations and support corrective action plans
- Pre-operation and sanitary inspections
- Verify core food safety programs (GMP’s, Allergen Controls, Metal Detection, etc.)
- Product hold reconciliation
- SOP and SOW verification
- Laboratory analysis of key product quality specification
- Train new employees
- Advanced troubleshooting of quality-related equipment
- Cross training and supporting other Roskam plants (as a requirement for the role)
What you need:
- Working knowledge of quality systems to ensure food safety and quality
- Strong interpersonal skills to include team building and oral communication
- Strong documentation skills
- Working knowledge in Microsoft software and computing skills
- The ability to follow standard operating procedures
Preferred Skills/Experience
- 2 - 3 years of industry experience in quality systems
- 2 year or BS degree in scientific field
- Working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, thermometers, calipers analyzers).
- Experience in working in quality systems management within the food manufacturing industry
