Job Description Summary
The Lead Production Control Specialist is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of additive hardware/materials within the Additive Technology Center and its outside suppliers. This includes but is not limited to: Forecasting material/resource needs, planning shop priorities, analyzing capacity requirements, facilitating problem solving, creating detailed schedules, and providing customer commitments.
This role will work collaboratively with operations, engineering, quality, and the customer to enable efficient product flow and on time delivery. Come join a high performing team while working on state of the art Additive Technology!
Job Description
The Lead Production Control Specialist will ensure an uninterrupted supply and flow of materials and WIP to support production and delivery commitments. This role will work to resolve materials and component issues while achieving and maintaining inventory business metrics. This role will demonstrate leadership in pursuit of meeting business goals and objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules, and forecast material input needs by utilizing standard planning tools.
  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs.
  • Optimize inventory and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.
  • Interpret simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.
  • Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, or customers.
  • Drive supplier/vendor accountability through overall delivery health, producibility and its impact on delivery.
  • Oversee on-time material delivery with suppliers.
  • Assess supplier performance and helps establish corrective action plans accordingly. Creates positive supplier relationships.
  • Prioritize part flow internally across the shops and externally with vendors
  • Maintain approved parts inventory and manage vendor service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet customers' requirements for product delivery, in close partnership with Engineering and Quality teams, including delivery commitments when necessary.
  • Hold self and others accountable for delivering efficient, quality products and business results.
  • Ensure that material is scheduled to support the production process and flow of materials, parts, and assemblies.
  • Manage Load vs. Capacity and provide lead time availability

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience)
