With a minimum education requirement of a high school diploma and a willingness to enroll in a Child Development Associate (CDA) class, along with opportunities for further education including associate and bachelor's degrees, this position offers a pathway for professional growth and development in the rewarding field of early childhood education.
Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to create engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that support the growth and learning of preschool-aged children.
2. Classroom Management: Establish a nurturing and supportive classroom environment where children feel safe, respected, and encouraged to explore and learn.
3. Individualized Instruction: Recognize and respond to the unique needs and interests of each child, providing personalized support and guidance to facilitate their learning and development.
4. Parent Communication: Build positive and collaborative relationships with families, keeping them informed about their child's progress, achievements, and any concerns that may arise.
5. Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor children's progress and identify areas for growth, using observation and documentation to inform instructional practices and interventions.
6. Professional Development: Participate in training opportunities, workshops, and continuing education courses to enhance your knowledge and skills in early childhood education and child development.
7. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and staff members to plan and implement curriculum, share resources and ideas, and support one another in providing high-quality care and education for all children.
8. Health and Safety: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your care, following established protocols and procedures for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required), with a willingness to enroll in a Child Development Associate (CDA) class immediately
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred)
- Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting
- Basic understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to the needs of diverse learners
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
