Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Assist in the pre-preparation of food products as instructed by the Chef & Sous Chef. To work safely & professionally with co-workers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
- Prepares daily soups, stocks, brazing and butchering.
- Assists with daily family meals.
- Assists Chef & Sous Chef in daily ordering, receiving & storage of deliveries.
- Carefully follows the club's standard recipes while preparing all assigned items.
- Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices including those related to personal hygiene.
- Maintains a clean work station, including equipment used for food preparation tasks.
- Attends department and staff meetings.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Chef and Sous Chefs.
Education and/or Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have six months culinary work experience or previous hospitality industry cooking experience preferred.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Knowledge of basic food preparation principles to include Preparations of Blanching Vegetables, Soups, Stocks, Braising, and Roasting.
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions and treined in food safety practices.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
Licenses and Special Requirements
- Food safety certification.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
- Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
- Work in hot, humid and noisy environment.
