ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Provide coverage as needed to perform phlebotomy duties for assigned locations.
- Oversee staff productivity and ensure lab protocols, compliance and HIPPA guidelines are followed by phlebotomist within their assigned locations.
- Observe and monitor staff performance on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual basis and communicate to the Phlebotomy Manager any corrective action that needs to be taken.
- Provide on-the-job training for new employees and retrain current employees as needed.
- Have a great attitude and passion for helping customers, both patients and clients
- Be knowledgeable in all areas of customer service including the basics about lab testing and be able to explain results, turnaround times, specimen requirements, etc. to our clients.
- Answer questions about lab protocols in a professionally and courteous manner
- Customer Service – being both patient and client-facing. This position is in an independent clinic setting, PSC or doctors office and you are a representative of Simple to both clients and patients.
- Independent / remote work. Must be comfortable to ask questions via the main laboratory by calling and interacting with sales and customer service based in headquarters.
- This position may require Observed Urine and Blood collection.
- Arrange daily activities based on urgency of requests for fluid samples.
- Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents, or other means.
- Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.
- Reassure patients and help them relax.
- Find veins that are suitable for venipuncture.
- Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment.
- Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples.
- Label samples correctly, process, package for courier delivery to the lab.
- Answer patient questions and provide useful information.
- Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School or equivalent
- 5 years of recent phlebotomy experience and 3 years as a lead
- Experience as a Lead Phlebotomist preferred
- Phlebotomy Certification or Phlebotomy training
Dress Code: Must follow company’s dress code policy
Hours: This job may require continuous or discontinuous hours. A full time employee is expected to work a cumulative 40 hours every week. The number hours worked in a day depends on job necessity that day.
