POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Lead Operations Center Manager is entrusted with a strategic leadership role within our organization, orchestrating the operations of both the payroll analysts and benefits specialists teams. This multifaceted position demands a seasoned leader capable of fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and efficiency across departments. The primary objective is to ensure the delivery of premium payroll processing and benefits administration services, meeting and exceeding our clients' expectations.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Payroll Management and Client Benefits:

 

  • Lead the payroll analysts and benefits specialists teams, ensuring excellence in service delivery related to payroll processing and benefits administration.

  • Drive departmental objectives, ensuring adherence to federal regulations (COBRA, HIPAA, Sect 125, ACA, etc.) and timely achievement of goals.

  • Master the intricacies of the PEO Master benefit plans, payroll systems and CRM to facilitate seamless operations between payroll and benefits.

  • Manage team dynamics, including recruitment, training, and development, setting clear goals, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback.

  • Evaluate and enhance operational efficiency, pinpointing improvement areas and instituting best practices to elevate service quality and mitigate errors.

 

 

 

Strategic Collaboration and Oversight:

 

  • Facilitate effective communication between the benefits and payroll teams, ensuring consistency and coherence in service delivery.

  • Offer direct support to the payroll team during peak periods, ensuring effective collaboration between payroll and benefits departments.

  • Partner with the Manager of Payroll to pinpoint and exploit opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement in Payroll Operations, leveraging technological advancements and industry best practices.

 

Management of Leased facility (Houston location only):

 

  • Liaise with landlord to address maintenance issues and ensure timely repairs.

  • Optimize facility layout to ensure efficient use of leased space.

  • Coordinate with internal teams on space allocation, reconfiguration, or expansion based on organizational needs.

  • Engage and oversee third-party vendors for services not covered by the lease agreement.

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the organization (tenant) and the landlord.

  • Address and resolve any disputes or concerns that arise concerning the facility.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Experience: At least 5 years of management experience, with a strong background in payroll and benefits administration, preferably within a TPA setting.

  • Certifications: Certification in payroll and benefits is highly preferred. This includes Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, and extensive experience with HRIS systems, benefit enrollment platforms, and payroll software.
