Purpose
The Lead Spa Professional (Lead) provides department oversight, guidance, and training for their
team of licensed professionals, as well as performing high-quality services for Woodhouse Spa
guests. As a liaison between the department spa professionals and the location leadership team, the
Lead role provides supervision over their specific department and fosters a positive, professional, and
productive work environment that maximizes employee retention. This role will work collaboratively
with the location management team to meet/exceed monthly KPI metrics.
Responsibilities
Leads are expected to hold their team accountable to the policies and procedures of Woodhouse Spa
in addition to training, mentoring, coaching, and providing regular performance feedback to their
team to ensure guest retention and continued growth of the location. Additionally, this position will
maintain accurate product levels of backbar items and provide monthly product order information for
their department. The Lead Spa Professional is responsible for adhering to and promoting
Woodhouse Spa standards outlined in the Operations Manual and will strive each day to exceed guest
expectations. They are accountable for obtaining the education and licensure required to perform
position-specific services within the state they are working.
Role Specifications
• Departmental subject matter expert of Woodhouse Spa protocols, processes, and retail
products.
• Training of new spa professionals and continued training/development of department staff.
• Maintaining an accurate inventory of department backbar and associated retail products.
• Holds accountability for treatment room restocking procedures.
• Compiling supplies/product order lists/quantities for placing vendor orders for the upcoming
month to ensure needed items do not run out.
• Upholding the highest standard of operation when working alongside and observing a team.
• Communicating any concerns or issues with service quality and operations of the department
to management to address.
• Partnering with spa management for coordination of events, promotions, staff training, and
continued education opportunities.
• Upholding a work environment that minimizes turnover and maximizes retention.
• Preparing the guest for services according to the treatment protocols.
• Reviewing the guest’s intake form for any valuable information.
• Educating the guest about the benefits of the service(s) performed.
• Offering enhancements that pair with the guest’s chosen service(s) and educating them on the
benefits of the enhancement(s).
• Educating the guest on the products used during the service.
Corporate Spa Lead Spa Professional
• Retailing home care products and explaining how to use them properly.
• Communicating various promotions to guests.
• Referring the guest to other Woodhouse Spa services offered.
• Documenting pertinent guest information in their records via SOAP Notes.
• Maintaining organization of the treatment rooms and preparation areas.
• Escorting the guest to the dressing room, service areas, etc., as needed.
• Following all Woodhouse Spa policies and protocols.
• Ensuring proper lighting, music, cleanliness, and aromatherapy are present.
• Supporting the needs of the team and the location.
• Maintaining the proper care of the spa tools and equipment.
• Ensuring safety, sterilization, and sanitation procedures are completed.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Availability to work weekend and evening hours.
• Communicating with staff and management to ensure the location runs smoothly and
according to the schedule.
• Renewing licensure as required by the state, prior to the license expiration date.
• Obtaining continuous education per state licensing requirements and/or Woodhouse Spa
requirements.
• Protecting the Woodhouse Spa brand with positivity and dedication.
Organizational Relationship
The Lead Spa Professional position reports directly to the Spa Director.
