Job Description
Position: CNC Machinist - Lead
Setup and operate CNC Lathes, CNC Vertical and Horizontal Machining Centers and related support equipment. Requires experience and a good working knowledge of machining methods and related manufacturing processes, standards and materials. Pay dependent on experience and skill.

- Teaches and trains other's machine operation, machining methods and practices to ensure safety, quality and productivity standards are met.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, and competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes and unexpected jobs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to understand required dimensions and tolerances of the finished workpiece.
- Works with engineering, estimating, programming and others to determine setup requirements, sequence of operations and to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Set up and operate CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Drills and CNC and Manual Saws by selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials for self and other operators.
- Calculate and set controls to adjust machining feeds and speeds, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, load and edit computer programs.
- Detect machine problems, and out-of-tolerance machining and make adjustments to the machine or program to make corrections. Inspects parts before and after machining to insure manufacturing is to specification.
- Identifies parts produced and verifies conformance to specifications.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of current CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic skills required as needed to utilize tape measures, micrometers, bore gauges, thread gauges, calipers, dial indicators and etc.
Language and Communication
- Must speak, read and comprehend written instructions, blueprints, correspondence and memos in English. Must be able to write correspondence in English and effectively present information one-on-one, to management and fellow employees. Must possess the ability to apply common sense and an understanding of the task at hand with a willingness to react and respond positively to change.
