Essential Functions:
As a member of the Grocery Operations Team, the Lead Logistics Administrative Clerk will be responsible for providing direction, guidance and support to all Logistics Administrative Clerks. The Lead Clerk rotates the Logistics Admin Clerks through various essential functions in support of warehousing operations. These include, but are not limited to: Shipping, Receiving, Full Pallet Reconciliation, Mail Maintenance, Warehousing, Sanitation, Invoicing and General Paperwork. In this role, you work closely with Warehouse Supervisors to provide operational inbound priority reports and allocate necessary shipping doors to ensure the proper release of work according to the routing sheets for selection.
The candidate pursuing this opportunity must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to multiple team members in a fast paced warehouse environment. This position supports a 7 day operation and works directly with the Supervisory team to provide seamless product workflow to 350+ ShopRite / PriceRite / Fresh Grocer /Fairway / Gourmet Garage stores.
Core Functions:
- Ability to run and provide Operation Supervisors with initial assessment reports of the operational inbound priorities to ensure quality service levels
- Responsible for allocating the necessary shipping doors as instructed by the Shift Supervisor and releasing the work according to the routing sheet for selection as required
- Monitor warehouse and machine scratches to prioritize needed selection items
- Responsible for the management of both the Vocollect and RF (Radio Frequency) units to ensure the equipment is issued, returned and maintained. If damages or losses occur, the Lead reports this to Supervision
- Coordinate schedules to cover associate days off, sick, personal and vacations days as required
- Actively monitors the warehouse environment to ensure Wakefern policies and procedures are adhered to and reports any violations to Supervision in a timely manner
- Work any Logistic Admin Clerk area and/or function as necessary if proper coverage cannot be scheduled
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
- Strong personal computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Lotus Notes.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess analytical, organizational and administrative skills.
- Demonstrated data entry accuracy.
- Working knowledge of Wakefern computer systems including Rapid, WMS, QMF and Metafile preferred.
- Flexibility with work schedule: ability to work any 5 out of 7-day schedule.
- Flexibility with work hours: frequent overtime, alternate shifts and weekends.
- Well-developed oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Presentation skills preferred.
- Experience in Logistics or Procurement a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
