Here's what you'd do:
- The client seeks a senior technical professional to join the Managed Operational Support Services (OSS) team as a Linux System Administrator (Sys Admin).
- Responsibilities for this position include support to software engineering while developing a new OSS system by provisioning and managing virtual environments (VMs) and installing and configuring the Linux-based Red Hat operating system.
- The System Admin will also monitor and maintain the system hardware performance.
- The position ensures that system hardware, software, and related procedures adhere to the system's design and architecture.
- This individual will manage system access user accounts and develop the procedures for system configuration to support production builds.
- This individual will also assist program teams with technical analysis support testing and rolling out new patches.
- Participation in programs focuses on smoothing the transition from system development to operational readiness within the program's life cycle.
- Performs software installations and upgrades to RedHat and Windows operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them by established policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
- Manages and directs proactive and reactive systems administration activities to ensure networked and stand-alone systems' availability, integrity, and reliability.
- Administers assigned Enterprise systems such as enterprise data storage administration (EMC/NetApp) and enterprise server virtualization (VMWare) to ensure systems function correctly.
- Troubleshoots hardware, software, and vast area network-related problems associated with the assigned Enterprise system(s).
- Coordinates with server and operating system vendors to resolve issues, arrange service, and obtain support.
- Develops schedules for installing and monitoring local network and stand-alone information resources.
- Installs and provides support for internal development software and applications.
- Monitors and tunes the system to achieve the optimum level of performance.
- Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of servers for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines.

Pay: $67.85 - $71.42/hr.
Hours: 9/80 Reg Work Schedule (1st Shift).
Length: Temp to Perm (12 Months).

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 13 years experience supporting LINUX in a Virtual Environment (VMware).
- Minimum of 13 years experience configuring and maintaining Linux operating systems.
- Minimum of 13 years experience configuring and maintaining Windows operating systems.
- Minimum of 13 years experience in Enterprise data storage administration (EMC/NetApp).
- Minimum of 13 years experience with applications such as RHEL - SMB, NFS, SELinux [RedHat v8+], and VMWare ESXi.
- Minimum of 9 years experience in IT Security/Computer Engineering/Computer Science.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or IT Security.
- Master's Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or IT Security.
- Experience performing RPM builds for software packages.
- Experience performing complex infrastructure design, including planning interactions of multiple applications (HA, DB, Large Networks).
- Experience performing scripting for automation of tools (Ansible primary and other scripting languages can also translate).
- Experience with RedHat - version 8.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team with multiple disciplines.
- Knowledgeable of networking associated with a LAN-based server and workstations.
