Linux Systems Administrator

Summary: Seeking a Linux Systems Administrator for technical systems administrative support, system maintenance, and user services management.

Job Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Information Systems or related field.

• Ability to secure FAA Public Trust security clearance.

• Experience with Windows Domain and Active Directory services.

• Expertise in Linux and Unix (Solaris, HP) operating systems.

• Previous experience in an IT operations center environment is advantageous.

• Familiarity with System and Network monitoring tools such as Nagios, PRTG, Zabbix is a plus.

• Knowledge of Commercial Aviation and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) systems is beneficial.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical systems administrative support to test, deploy and maintain contract systems to meet SLA performance criteria.

• Execute technical procedures relating to system administration including baseline configuration, operating sequences and restoration approaches as approved by management.

• Carry out system-level preventive maintenance on system devices and applications as part of lifecycle support strategy to meet contract service requirements.

• Create, update and close service tickets on all system issues handled for documentation purposes detailing nature of work performed along with relevant data for historical analysis.

• Notify management about critical outages (both internal and customer).

• Process and activate user services/accounts as approved by management for accessing and managing system devices and applications.

Pay Details: $24.00 to $33.00 per hour
