The pay range is $111,200.00 - $200,200.00

As a lead engineer, you serve as the technical anchor for the engineering team that supports a product. You create, own and are responsible for the application architecture that best serves the product in its functional and non-functional needs. You identify and drive architectural changes to accelerate feature development or improve the quality of service (or both). You have deep and broad engineering skills and are capable of standing up an architecture in its whole on your own, but you choose to influence a wider team by acting as a "force multiplier"

As a Lead iOS Engineer on the Flagship mobile team you will:
• Develop clean, well-tested native iOS code to deliver functionality that meets business objectives
• Coach and mentor junior engineers to provide guidance on coding and design best practices
• Analyze requirements and design
• Work closely with partner teams such as UX, Product and back end as needed
• Perform complex engineering tasks independently and collaboratively
• Manage complex cross-team coordination and dependencies
• Evaluate and communicate different engineering solutions and trade-offs

About you:
• 4 year degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of software development experience with at least one full cycle implementation
• 4+ years of experience developing apps for iOS
• Experience developing in Swift
• In-depth knowledge of native tools and frameworks (e.g., Swift, UIKit, Xcode, Instruments, etc.)
• Experience with test-driven development and software test automation
• Excellent debugging, performance and optimization skills
• Excellent knowledge of working with dynamic data using services (e.g., JSON, REST APIs, etc.)
• Experience distributing mobile applications via public app stores and/or enterprise channels
• Communicates and coordinates with project team, partners, and stakeholders
• Maintains deep technical knowledge within areas of expertise
• Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
Desired Experience:
• Experience following best practices in developing iOS apps at scale on large, distributed teams, including modular app architecture, frameworks, build pipeline, on-prem and cloud CI/CD, automated testing, observability, code review, static analysis, etc.
• Deep expertise in Apple development, tools, and frameworks
• Experience with SwiftUI
• Experience working with modern Swift Concurrency
• Experience with authenticated sessions using OAuth and authentication tokens
• Experience developing highly successful apps that enjoy wide scale distribution
• Experience with design/development/use of analytics solutions
• Experience with agile methodology
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
