Lead Paramedic Instructor

Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:
The Lead Instructor organizes, develops and presents the programs offered by the Cataldo Education Center. The Lead Instructor is required to provide material that follows National EMS Standards and the National Scope of Practice. The Lead Instructor is responsible for presenting all Massachusetts guidelines and protocols and adhering to all Massachusetts OEMS and Co AEMSP standards. The Lead EMT Instructor/Coordinator must be approved in the State of Massachusetts and a Registered Paramedic.
Primary Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all material is provided according to National Scope of Practice and the National Standard curriculum
- Assist the Director of Education, Paramedic Program Director and Clinical Coordinator to meet CoAEMSP standards
- Participate in the development of classes
- Provide informative presentations utilizing resources and technology
- Participate in the update of policies and procedures
- Identify potential problem areas and work to correct and improve identified problems
- Provide for continued assessment of all programs for appropriateness and effectiveness
- Establish relationships with instructors and students that supports and encourages the philosophy of education
- Display a commitment to learning and improvement by continuous lifelong learning
- Follow policies and procedures including appropriate dress
- Maintain didactic and practical learning spaces
- Provide a safe learning environment
- Provide a clean and secure lab environment
- Any other duties to provide a safe and successful learning environment
Required Qualifications (Minimum)
Knowledge/ Education:
Associate Degree
Experience:
5 years in an active patient care role, previous experience in coordination and teaching of advanced level class, outstanding communication and organizational skills, ability to utilize technology employed by the CEC.
License, Registration, Certification:
Valid driver’s license, National Registry of EMT Paramedic, Massachusetts State Licensed, ACLS, BLS and PALS Instructor, Massachusetts Instructor/Coordinator
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/ Education:
Bachelor Degree or higher in EMS or related subject
Experience:
Experience with education standards in other associated fields, member of education or related standards committee.
License, Registration, Certification:
NAEMT class Instructor

Must display professionalism in dress, demeanor and attitude in order to present a positive learning environment for the students, associate faculty and training center. Must be at least 18 years of age.
