Job description

You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT/ HAZARDOUS MATERIAL TECHNICIAN) in the FIRE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary.Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) Conveys written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; 2) Expresses thoughts persuasively and uses effective modes to reinforce message retention; 3) Demonstrates ability to clearly and effectively articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences; 4) Makes clear and convincing oral presentations. Listens effectively; clarifies information as needed. NOTE: This information must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for the GS-8: Firefighter II, Apparatus Driver-Operator for Pumper, Airport Rescue Firefighting (ARFF), Fire Officer 1, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Airport Firefighter, HAZMAT Technical Level and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (NREMT-B).These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or Pro Board to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
