Lead Fire Protection Engineer

Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer based in any of our offices from Virginia Beach Hampton Roads area through Cary, NC.  Depending upon the experience level and candidate, we are open to hiring a candidate hybrid  or remote.  The ideal candidate will be a licensed engineer (PE) and have experience as a Fire Protection and life safety code consultant. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated history of successfully managing their own client projects.

 

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities will include the management and implementation of a wide variety of engineering design and consulting projects. 
• Plan and direct engineering activities for your own projects
• Conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses
• Design Fire Protection systems including fire alarm, sprinkler and special hazard systems
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations
• Be a key player in Business Development activities

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of experience that includes a combination of Code Consulting, Performance Based Design, and Fire Protection System Design.  Registered Professional Engineer preferred
• Have excellent report writing and interpersonal skills
• Should have the ability to present clear and technically sound Fire Protection Engineering strategies and have good communication and negotiations skills
• Can work independently and as part of a team, enjoy professional challenges and wants to be an integral part of the long-term growth of Jensen Hughes
