We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fiber Optic Foreman to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and leading a crew of fiber optic technicians on a variety of projects across the country. You will ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of fiber optic cable infrastructure.
Please note: This position requires 100% travel. Candidates will be away from home for extended periods of time.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a crew of fiber optic technicians on various telecom projects across the country
- Oversee all aspects of fiber optic cable installation, including aerial, underground, and inside plant work
- Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, safety protocols, and company procedures
- Conduct pre-job briefings to discuss safety protocols, task assignments, and project expectations
- Train and mentor crew members on proper installation techniques and equipment operation
- Identify and troubleshoot installation issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate and complete project documentation, including daily logs, material usage reports, and quality control records
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment
- Collaborate effectively with other trades, engineers, and project managers
- Possess a strong understanding of telecoms infrastructure and network design
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience supervising crews on fiber optic installation projects
- Proven experience in telecoms and a strong understanding of fiber optic technology
- Experience working on civil and electrical construction projects (Required)
- Demonstrated knowledge of conduit installation, including EMT and rigid conduit types
- Ability to terminate CAT6 cables using RJ45 connectors and punch-down blocks
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
