Mattel's Facilities Team is a high performing group that maintains and provides a positive working environment for all employees at Headquarters in El Segundo, CA.  The team operates across multiple buildings at the campus. 

Job Description

The Opportunity: 

Mattel is searching for an Associate Manager to organize and execute in-house space planning for the El Segundo campus.  The individual will manage various projects simultaneously and work very closely with business partners and vendors to provide solutions that lend to a productive working environment.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Performs in-house space planning for the El Segundo campus.
  • Solve and execute campus reorganization including associate/department needs, size and type of space required, storage space requirements, work processes involved, proximity to equipment, and adjacency requirements with other departments. 
  • Generate furniture installation drawing and cube reconfigurations.  
  • Generate Facilities Work Orders as needed to complete user requests and projects.
  • Coordinate the in-house furniture installers and external installers as need.
  • Manage all campus relocations.
  • Ensures installations are completed in accordance with the drawings and requirements.
  • Specifies furniture and coordinate with vendor to ensure orders are accurate and submits quotes for Purchase Orders. 
  • Work closely with the other members in the Facilities department.
  • Place orders for furniture and items that can be purchased on-line.
  • Manage the Facilities on-line files as needed when placing orders and completing chargebacks.
  • Work with clients/ users to help design offices, workstation spaces, lobbies, etc. on the El Segundo campus.
  • Create and maintain project budgets.
  • Coordinate the project design process with requestors, in-house installers and external consultants (e.g., architects, furniture vendors, and other Mattel teams). 
  • Manage vendors and partners during project timeline

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of facilities design/ project management experience. 
  • Basic skill using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Lite
  • Competence in Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Ability to lead installation projects  
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates, senior business leaders, administrators, and a diverse group of individuals outside the organization. 
  • Ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships
  • Demonstrates ability to plan processes and work for a group or team to ensure work is completed in a timely manner. 
  • Experience project managing space improvements & construction
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.*

The annual base salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $112,000 salary.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
