Job Description

GE HealthCare has a unique opportunity for a seasoned communications expert to join our team and help strengthen our company’s reputation through storytelling and strategic communications (internal/external communications and stakeholder engagement) support for our corporate social responsibility initiatives and environmental, social, and governance (ESG/sustainability). Your key priority will be establishing GE HealthCare as a leader in corporate citizenship by supporting the development of the company’s sustainability communications strategy and leading/executing its sustainability plan. You will combine corporate advisory and strategic communications, public policy, advocacy, stakeholder engagement and crisis and issues management, as it relates to environmental, social and governance issues. You will also support GE HealthCare’s communications for our overall corporate social responsibility initiatives (CSR), combining your subject matter expertise from sustainability to support efforts in philanthropy, volunteerism, community affairs, and helping ensure alignment of our sustainability work with Government Affairs and Investor Relations teams.

To be successful in the role you will have experience with technical aspects of ESG, including a strong understanding of markets, ESG ratings and climate, and a strong interest in current events and grappling with complex challenges.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead ESG communications strategy and execution, with guidance from senior leaders and support from junior team members, while supporting communications for the company’s overall corporate social responsibility initiatives.

  • Contribute meaningfully to building out the story around GE Healthcare’s ESG ambitions, including sustainability, affordable/accessible care, and DEI among other areas.

  • Provide strategic counsel and risk assessment for communications related to ESG and other topics that could affect the firm’s reputation.

  • Drive story ideas in traditional and trade media to elevate GE Healthcare’s ESG and CSR thought leadership.

  • Play a dedicated role in developing, drafting and producing GE Healthcare’s annual Sustainability report, which includes project management duties, content creation, and data collection and reporting aligned to global standards.

  • Develop collateral that promote GE Healthcare’s social impact and sustainability initiatives to different audiences including customers, employees, investors, NGOs and media.

  • Able to synthesize and communicate complex sustainability data as well as draft creative and engaging communications to bring GE Healthcare’s social impact and sustainability initiatives to life for internal and external audiences.

  • Build a strong connection – strategic messaging and content – to the future corporate philanthropy/giving strategy of the organization and embed within our overall CSR and sustainability narrative.

  • Actively follow the landscape for sustainability communications, including ESG standards and key reports, and effectively advise and consult internal leaders; provide analyses of ESG business trends, ratings/rankings, and benchmarking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, English, PR, Sustainable Business, Marketing or related field.

  • 7+ years’ experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume marketing, communications, PR and/or investor relations function for a large corporation or agency.

  • Experience and knowledge with environmental sustainability issues and CSR

  • Proficiency in some or all of the following ESG standards: GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, DJSI, UN SDG.

Desired Characteristics

  • 5+ years’ experience writing and project managing annual reports, related high-profile assets.

  • Experience conducting independent research and analysis of corporate responsibility issues.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; work easily and collaboratively across different divisions/teams.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and concisely.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $139,128.00-$208,692.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). GE HealthCare offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
