About Our School
We are a small preschool with 2 classrooms and a dedicated team of 5 teachers that strive to offer an amazing program for our students. Our program has an active schedule in line with our philosophy. We are fortunate to benefit from the ability to use a variety of spaces within the Health Club that we are part of. This is especially useful during inclement weather when we use the field house for recess. Students also benefit from weekly swim lessons and monthly fitness classes given by the club’s certified instructors. We love to be outside as much as we can and utilize the green spaces that surround the club. We are a School Year Only program and follow the Franklin Public Schools Calendar for school vacations and holidays. We run a preschool camp in the February and April breaks, reduced hours or 9am-4pm with a maximum of 10 students. This position would require working one of the breaks or part of both.
Job Description

Our teachers are passionate about teaching and deliver a play-based curriculum that fires up children's curiosity, imagination, creativity and seeks to instill into children a passion for learning. We value parents as partners and see children as capable. Teachers enjoy consistent weekly schedules in assigned classrooms with low student/teacher ratios and assistance in meeting professional development requirements.
We are looking for someone who is either EEC Preschool Lead Teacher certified or, EEC Preschool Teacher certified, currently working towards Lead certification.
Job type – School Year Only (Sept - Early June), Full time M-F 37-40 hrs. per week, 8.30am - 5pm. Preschool camp runs February & April break 9am-4pm, candidates should be able to work one of the camps or part of.
Job Requirements
- A love for children and a passion to teach.
- Able to build relationships with parents, co-teachers, and work as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and manage situations effectively. Must meet State specific guidelines for the role.
- Hold EEC Teacher Certification or EEC Lead Teacher Certification.
- Lift a minimum of 40lbs.
- Have basic computer proficiency.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
- Flexible, punctual, and committed to working.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and implementing educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Implementing age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement and meet EEC requirements.
- Supervise teacher assistants to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Attend monthly Staff Meetings (mandatory) and twice-yearly paid group professional development.
Additional Knowledge and Skills Required
- High energy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
- Must clear full background check.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
