Position Summary

Lead Director of Information Security responsible for ensuring that CVS Health adheres to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Leads a team of skilled assessors and enterprise PCI Program Manager responsible for evaluating and driving compliance initiatives, while also providing strong technical guidance and exemplary leadership.

Responsible for providing leadership, as well as operational and tactical direction to team of assessors and program manager. The Lead Director provides strategic direction reporting into GRC Executive Director. This leader assumes responsibility for the education and enforcement of those protocols and matters of compliance.

This position requires strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate detailed, technical information in a manner comprehensible by individuals at varying degrees of experience and skill level. The role requires the ability to speak confidently in front of large groups and with corporate management, vendors and service providers. This role contributes to the company IT security strategy and roadmap. The Lead Director possesses a strong technical background and understands risk, mitigation and technical controls.

  • Assess and increase knowledge of the organization’s readiness for PCI compliance, creates and maintains a program to achieve PCI compliance, and then monitors business activities to ensure the organization maintains its PCI compliance certification in the future
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive PCI DSS compliance strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead a team of assessors in conducting assessments, gap analysis, and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
  • Help establish strategic management of PCI Compliance
  • Possess in-depth technical knowledge of PCI DSS requirements, information security best practices, and emerging threats.
  • Provide technical guidance to assessors and offer solutions to address compliance challenges effectively.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of assessors to maintain a high level of competence and commitment.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence within the team
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across the large cross matrixed organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and compliance, to align PCI DSS compliance efforts with organizational goals.
  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, providing regular updates on compliance status and potential risks.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks related to PCI DSS compliance.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect sensitive cardholder data.
  • Proven experience leading PCI DSS compliance efforts.
  • Strong technical background and expertise in information security.

  • Ensure that all team members are well-versed in compliance-related policies.


Required Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of information security technologies and frameworks, risks and controls
  • Regulatory and Security Frameworks including PCI, NIST, SOX, SOC, HIPAA
  • Healthcare, Insurance or Retail industry business practices and risks
  • Information Security risk methodologies and frameworks
  • Proven experience leading PCI DSS compliance efforts.
  • Strong technical background and expertise in information security.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications in PCI Professional Certification such as Internal Security Assessor (ISA) or PCI Professional (PCIP) is a plus, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), are a plus


Education

Equivalent Experience 8 to 10 years

High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED)

Other Certification(s):

Bachelor Degree - Preferred

Other License(s): List

CISSP, CISM, CRISC, PCI ISA or equivalent

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
