Pay Range: Minimum: $40.06/hour Maximum: $60.47/hour
The role you'll contribute:
Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department. Perform high quality images and exams on patients while maintaining the sensitivity to patient needs. Demonstrates leadership abilities and is a role model for other associate technologists. Acts as a clinical resource to unit personnel and assures current standards of practice for the unit. Provides shift leadership and support to the Imaging staff.
The value you'll bring to the team:
- Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to, abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retroperitoneal, small parts and vascular. May perform cardiac procedures as required by entity. Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).
- Communicates in writing and verbally with all physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff in facilitating the continuum of care.
- Actively participates in department/hospital quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintains compliance with all state, federal, and hospital accreditation, regulations, and standards.
- Responsible for contributing to ACR accreditation as requested.
- Provides leadership, support, and coordination to Imaging technical and support staff. Participates in the interviewing and selection process. Responsible for orienting, training and mentoring staff and students.
- Establishes a motivating, constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and system departments. Participates in clinical training for students and/or staff technologists.
- Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of ultrasound experience
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
- For entities with shortages of qualified personnel, certification must be obtained within one year of hire; otherwise is required: ARDMS - registered RDMS(OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR); or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(S)(BS), (ARRT)ARDMS registered RVT(VT) or ARRT registered - R.T.(S)(VS)(ARRT);or ARDMS registered RDCS(AE) or (PE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS)
Preferred:
- Previous leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree
