What you'll do:
- Oversee all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly Batch Processing functions performed during one of the three shifts maintained in the computer operations room.
- Oversee and operate, as needed, the Data Center equipment.
- Train department employees regarding all applicable procedures.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance functions and cleaning of printers.
- Contact third party vendors, if necessary, to ensure equipment is repaired in the event of equipment failure.
- Ensure a smooth transition between shifts by providing detailed information via the shift and events logs and verbally regarding processing functions.
- Perform Hardware and software issues resolution.
- Utilize Systems tools for break/fix support for the data center systems server environments.
What it takes to join our team:
- Associate degree or equivalent required. (MIS) or IBM mainframe, Open systems Windows OS environment platform experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of data processing, care and handling of tapes and disks necessary.
- Oral and written communication skills as appropriate to this position.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds, grasp tapes, as well as work in a dusty, noisy and cool environment.
- May work any one of three shifts.
- Must be organized, detail oriented and effective at meeting deadlines.
- Ability to move about the computer room and throughout the building as required.
