The Lead Business Analyst for Educator Solutions will support our mission to grow the pipeline of qualified K-12 teachers in the teaching profession by gathering, analyzing, and presenting data on our various products and business functions.
The Lead Business Analyst will work closely with Educator Solutions leadership, product managers, and cross-functional partners. They will be able to structure their work around business needs, working with a high degree of autonomy to understand required business outputs (Analyses, Dashboards, PowerPoint presentations, Excel Models, etc.) and work towards the data collection and analysis necessary to produce those outputs.
Responsibilities will include understanding online behavior from tracking events and creating dashboards (especially in Google Analytics), structuring problem-solving approaches to new business questions, consolidating data across multiple platforms and databases, updating, maintaining, and improving forecasts and models in Excel, and producing charts and PowerPoint slides for both executive and company-wide consumption.
The Lead Data Analyst must have a high degree of proficiency in a variety of tools to complete these tasks, including SQL, Google Analytics, and Excel. They must also demonstrate a high degree of problem solving and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders to gather the necessary context and information to efficiently reduce ambiguity and decide on a problem-solving approach.
Responsibilities:
Support the K-12 Leadership Team to define, measure, analyze, and improve the performance of our Praxis teacher licensure business.
Create executive-ready PowerPoint slides that summarize, compare, and explain both planned and actual business results.
Use Excel, Google Analytics, Power BI, and other tools to create charts and dashboards of relevant business metrics.
Document data flows between various databases and tools (Marketo, Salesforce, Google Analytics) to show the technical definitions and source of truth for key metrics.
Aggregate data from various sources using a combination of BI tools, SQL, or Excel as appropriate.
Work with teams focused on research and partnerships to create and understand customer profiles and analyze longitudinal engagement with Praxis and related educational/employment opportunities
Support the business, marketing, and product teams on the measurement of key initiatives, including setting up tracking instrumentation in Google Analytics and GTM and defining and tracking KPIs.
Support business leadership and finance in maintaining and updating business forecasts and related documents.
Adhere to highest ethical standards; comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
Minimum of 8+ years of prior business, finance, or data roles
Experience in an education-oriented business
Experience analyzing business data with Excel and SQL
Experience setting up web-analytics and building dashboards in Google Analytics
Experience working with marketing data and marketing technology, for example, SEO, channel attribution, conversion rate optimization, email and lifecycle marketing
Experience creating requirements for data pipelines/transformations and documenting data sources for analysis
- Proficient navigating SQL databases and writing queries to summarize and analyze data
Strong knowledge of Excel, with ability to analyze data using formulas, charts, and pivot tables
Ability to design slides and communicate effectively in PowerPoint
Knowledge of BI tools including Tableau, Power BI and Looker and underlying data structures
Knowledge of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for tracking web events and creating dashboards
Preferred:
An understanding of the US Teacher Licensure market
Experience with study-oriented and/or test-preparation products
Familiarity with Python or R, and techniques for advanced statistical analysis
Familiarity with modern web-analytics tools beyond Google Analytics
Experience working in a business that is leveraging and responding to the impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence
