Position Description:
A seasoned manager to help oversee our coffee house and farmers market operations to the highest possible standard. Bonton Farms is the largest urban farm in the United States with two locations and over 40-acres in production. The leader requires experience in both a coffee house and small food retail operation, along with a customer-service attitude that also assists in coaching others on how to provide a supreme customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Lead Barista and Retailer is responsible for the overarching targets and goals of the coffee house and farmers market.
- Create high caliber coffee, non-coffee beverages, and food items to patrons at Bonton Farms.
- Operate point of sale (POS) systems for the coffee house and farmers market.
- Assist in establishing a menu for the coffee house including offering of beverages and pastries.
- Coach and train staff.
- Ensure farmers market is stocked with both retail items and produce.
- Maintain accurate inventory of items.
- Reorder items that are low in inventory.
- Uphold all health code and cleanliness standards for both locations.
- Assist in pop-up markets that are on-site and off-site
- Prepare online, wholesale and special orders.
This position requires 2-3 years of experience in coffee shops. Essential skills for the job include leadership, budgeting and financial experience, and a strong knowledge of operating standards for a coffee house. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience. In addition, the candidate would have an understanding and passion for the mission of Bonton Farms. Candidate will have a background in leading teams and growing employees in the personal and professional experience.
