LAUNDRY ATTENDANT
POSITION PURPOSE
Process soiled linen and distribute clean linen in accordance with standard operating procedures in a safe, accident-free manner, as assigned by management.
- Receive and sort soiled linen into appropriate containers.
- Utilize gloves and face masks when in contact with soiled.
- Process sorted linen utilizing the washers and dryers
- Treat stains on all laundry before washing and drying to extend the life of the terry and linen.
- Fold all linen in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain assigned work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Notify supervisor of malfunctioning equipment, supplies needed, and damaged linens to ensure operation is running at maximum efficiency.
- Strip guest rooms of dirty towels and sheets as required by direct supervisor.
- Coordinate with direct supervisor on special projects or tasks before leaving for the day.
- Must report to work in proper uniform, including approved nametag.
During the majority of the shift, the following physical demands are required.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Proper lifting techniques required.
- Ability to pull, push up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to squat, bend, kneel and twist frequently throughout your shift.
- Ability to stand and walk for long period of time.
- Ability to use various equipment such as vacuum cleaners and dusters.
- Ability to work under variable temperature conditions, prolonged heat.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
