Laundry Attendant

Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

Job Requirements:

· Sorts sheets and towels and washes sheets and towels separately

· Takes loads out of washer and places towels in dryer. Places sheets in bin to be run through Ironer

· Runs sheets through Ironer and folds sheets

· Folds towels

· Aids in stripping guest rooms of sheets and towels when needed

· Aids in cleaning public spaces when needed

· Understands the needs of the Room Attendants and gets needed linen and terrycloth to them when requested.

· Must possess excellent knowledge of all departments

· Fluency in English

· Understand guest’s service needs and exceeds guest expectations

· Handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodation special requests whenever possible

· Works harmoniously and professionally with coworkers and supervisors

· Operates equipment necessary to sort, weigh, wash, dry, iron and fold hotel linen. Reports any problems or deficiencies to manager.

· Maintains an acceptable state of cleanliness and organization throughout the entire work area.

· Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence or heavy volume in other departments

· Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

· Works cooperatively with other people in order to achieve a common goal.

· All other responsibilities assigned by management

Job Description:

· Standard hotel setting. Professional, passionate and positive work environment.

· Continuous standing 100% of the shift

· Inside 100% of the shift

· Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying required up to 100lbs or more. Carts maybe pulled up to 75 feet

· Bending/Kneeling required 70% of the shift

· Mobile position requiring 100% of the time

· May at times work in extreme conditions with temperatures to vary between 50 F to 90 F
