The City of Chandler Public Works and Utility Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as aLandscape Maintenance Services Senior Technician with benefits. The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (summer hours) or 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (winter hours).

Who we are
Chandler was the first city in Arizona to receive accreditation of our water and wastewater operations by the American Public Works Association, the toughest accreditation to achieve in the industry. The Utilities Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's water, wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure. The Utilities team maintains and operates one water, one brine reduction and three wastewater facilities. We treat over 64 million gallons of fresh water and treat over 30 million gallons of wastewater per day to class A+ reclaimed water to meet irrigation and industrial demands. Our water is received from four primary water sources: Salt River, Verde River, Colorado River and ground water supplied by our extensive well field facilities. We also use advanced treatment processes to recycle over 7 million gallons of industrial wastewater and return it back for industrial reuse. Service is provided to the City of Chandler residential, commercial, and industrial users by a network of 1,224 miles of active water mains, 942 miles of active sewer mains, and 92 miles of reclaimed water mains.
Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to perform field inspections to assist in monitoring compliance of City landscape, service and perform administrative duties for City landscape right-of-ways, medians and retention basin maintenance, service and related contracts in the City's Public Works Department.

Minimum qualifications
• A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 3 years of progressively responsible experience performing irrigation system installation, repair and maintenance duties; and
• B-3 Right-of-Way/Weed Management Office of Pest Management Certifications within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• B-5 Turf & Ornamental Horticulture Pest Management Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
