The purpose of a Landscape Gardener is to assist the Horticulturist in designing, planting, and maintaining all flower
baskets, planters, displays, and landscape beds around all the communal areas of the Yellowstone Club property.
Responsibilities Include:
- Help design and plant all the flower baskets, planters, displays, and landscape beds around the property.
- Daily maintenance of said displays including watering, deadheading, fertilizing, weeding, and replacing
- Manual labor; including the use of shovels, rakes, trimmers, blowers, hand-picking weeds, and edgers
- Assist Horticulturists in caring for plants in a greenhouse environment.
- Daily maintenance of paths/walkways/member areas including sweeping or operating a mechanical blower
- Perform hand digging, lifting, and physical work where needed.
- Spring cleaning and fall cut-back of landscape beds.
- Operate light maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, and trucks as authorized by the Horticulturist and
- Report equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately.
- Clean and organize the maintenance equipment and storage areas daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to floral upkeep throughout the property.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or vocational training, or job-related coursework
- Previous landscaping experience preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of a variety of plants and their needs
- Work outside in various environmental conditions.
- Ability to see, hear, smell, and have the manual dexterity to use all equipment.
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Previous work experience at a resort or Club is helpful but not required.
Compensation:
Depending on experience, starting rate of $20/hour with overtime opportunities paid at time and a half.
The position offered is a seasonal position located in Big Sky, Montana.
