POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Landscape Equipment & Fleet Supervisor provides maintenance and repairs to company landscaping equipment and vehicles. This position manages and prioritizes all work that comes into the shop including inventory of vehicles, landscaping equipment, machine safety protocols, internal customer communication, shop tools, & spare parts. This position manages and performs inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of all landscape vehicles. This position manages the maintenance and repair of all company trailers, mini excavators, skid steer and other motorized equipment, including 2 and 4 stroke small engines. The position develops and maintains a fleet maintenance program for all company vehicles. It will also include directing the activity of a Service Technician/Fleet Assistant with work across 3 company locations in Washington (Maltby/Black Diamond/Pacific). The ability to maintain strong partnerships built on trust and respect will be needed to be successful in the role.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Prioritizes and coordinates the daily maintenance/repair of the company fleet and equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic issues on trucks, trailers, 2 & 4 cycle power equipment, small construction equipment including skid steer, and a variety of other landscaping equipment.
  • Plans and executes routine maintenance on equipment, including winterizing seasonal equipment.
  • Manages and documents inspections of company vehicles and equipment.
  • Conducts routine safety inspections of company vehicles and equipment.
  • Coordinates purchases for shop equipment, tools, spare parts, and supplies within the guidelines of the annual budget.
  • Work with senior management on the purchases and replacement of equipment as needed for all divisions.
  • Maintains accurate records for all maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinates the sale, or disposal of surplus equipment.
  • Mentors and develops the Service Technician/Fleet Assistant.
  • Monitors and works in a manner that is consistent with company, federal, and state safety guidelines.
  • Works with senior management team to develop specifications for and purchase of new equipment.
  • Partners with Department and Account managers on needs throughout the year.
  • Additional related duties and responsibilities are assigned on an as needed basis. Flexibility in this position is key.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 21 years or older.

 

  • Ability to legally work in the U.S.

 

  • (5) years’ experience in equipment maintenance and repair.

 

  • (2) years’ experience with supervisory duties.

 

  • Demonstrated proficiency and leadership in organization and execution of operational plans.

 

  • Knowledge of engines, oil hydraulic systems, fuel systems, braking systems, and basic body repair.

 

  • Knowledge of repairing and maintaining 2 & 4 cycle power equipment.
  • Knowledge of property maintenance (lite building repair & Maintenance). 

 

  • Proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and a good sense of humor.

 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

 

  • Detail oriented, accurate, and self- motivated.

 

  • Ability to multi-task and change priorities with no notice as priorities change.

 

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization while fostering positive relationships.

 

  • Ability to navigate, mediate, and efficiently collaborate within differences of opinion to

accomplish team goals.

 

  • Possess and maintain current Driver’s license in good standing.

 

  • Ability to speak and write English.

 

  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.

 

  • Familiarity with Ford, Bobcat, and Xmark is a plus.

 

  • The ability to weld is a plus.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional ‘team lift’ when moving items over 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a prone position as well as on your back.
  • Must be able to work on equipment overhead.
  • Occasionally twisting and bending at the knees, waist, and torso.
