Hiring Salary Range: $39,046-$40,608 Full Salary Range: $39,046 - $55,227 Annually

Work Schedule: The position is assigned to a 40-hour work schedule, which is typically Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This schedule is subject to change during a holiday week or for emergency service which may require working a flexible schedule with little or no notice and may include weekends or holidays.

Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
This employee will be responsible for performing various assigned duties in the maintenance of parks, boulevards, open spaces and rights-of-way, etc.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Mowing, landscaping, weed eating, tree work and other duties
- Operating job-specific equipment such as commercial mowers, weed-eaters, tractors, push mowers, edgers, chain saws, and hand tools, etc.
- Working around traffic and heavy equipment.
The position is assigned to a 40-hour work schedule, which is typically Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This schedule is subject to change during a holiday week or for emergency service which may require working a flexible schedule with little or no notice and may include weekends or holidays. Early morning reporting times and working during inclement weather are required. This position may be assigned to the leaf program as well as the snow and ice removal program and may be subject to working 12-hour shifts during winter events. This employee will also be part of the on-call tree rotation. The individual must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions. This employee must have good attendance and must maintain a reliable means of contact (i.e. home or cellular telephone). The physical requirements of the job are standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, shoveling, and heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. Work is performed outside in all weather conditions. This employee must acquire and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement within 120 days of employment.Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED with 6+ months of experience in landscaping or mowing (i.e. lawn mowers, right-of-way mowers)
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid Class A CDL Driver's License ("OR" the ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment)
- Valid NC Pesticide License ("OR" the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment)
