Description
As a Land Survey Intern, you will work closely with our surveying team to support various Land Surveying projects, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and GIS mapping. This position offers hands-on experience in field data collection, surveying techniques, data processing, and project management. You will collaborate with experienced surveyors to gain practical knowledge and skills in the field of Land Surveying and geospatial data management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Fieldwork: Assist in conducting field surveys using total stations, GPS equipment, and digital levels to collect accurate measurements of land features, boundaries, and infrastructure.
  • Survey Control Establishment: Assist in setting up survey control points, benchmarks, and reference stations to ensure accuracy and consistency in survey data.
  • Boundary Surveys: Support surveyors in conducting boundary surveys, including researching property records, retracing property lines, and preparing survey plats.
  • Topographic Surveys: Assist in performing topographic surveys to map existing ground conditions, terrain features, and elevations for engineering design and land development projects.
  • Construction Staking: Support survey crews in setting construction stakes, layout points, and alignment markers to guide construction activities in accordance with design plans.
  • Data Processing: Assist in processing survey data using specialized software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) to generate survey drawings, digital terrain models (DTMs), and GIS datasets.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including survey notes, field sketches, and digital files, to support project deliverables and recordkeeping.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain types.
  • Previous experience with surveying equipment and fieldwork is preferred but not required.
