Land Management Supervisor

What We're Looking For: 

Are you passionate about ecological preservation and adeptat managing diverse landscapes in the Gainsville, FL area? We areseeking a dynamic Land Manager to join our team, contributing to crucial landmanagement activities for mitigation banks, environmental projects, and variousarchitectural and engineering ventures.

Working under the guidance of the Director and Barge Design Solutions staff, the Land Manager will play a pivotal role in executing Land Managementactivities to support mitigation banks, environmental initiatives, and variousprojects within the architecture and engineering industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Field Operations: Execute a range of fieldwork activities,including herbicide application, mowing, mechanical removal of invasivespecies, earthwork, data collection, planting, and other tasks essential forachieving restoration or development goals.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous logs of all landmanagement activities using tools like Avenza, providing regular updates to project managers.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate, and performregular maintenance on equipment and vehicles, ensuring theiroptimal functionality for continued operations.
  • Heavy Machinery Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery tofacilitate restoration activities as needed.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with the Director and staff to establish work priorities and schedules, ensuringefficient and effective Land Management operations.

 

 Education & Experience Qualifications: 

  • Licensure: Possession of all necessary licensures to apply herbicide in the diverse ecosystems of Florida.
  • Ecological Expertise: In-depth knowledge of ecology specificto the southeastern US, with a keen understanding of the region's uniqueecosystems.
  • Operational Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in theoperation and maintenance of a range of vehicles, boats, buggies, and trailers.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in challenging fieldconditions, including adverse weather (rain, high winds, heat, cold, darkness),as well as potential encounters with biting insects, venomous snakes,alligators, and other wildlife.
