Lactation Educator RN in our Postpartum unit at Providence Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, CA. This is a part-time position that will work 8-hour Day shifts and rotating weekends.
Independently receives nursing/physician lactation consultation orders in the inpatient setting and provides consults in the outpatient setting for discharged patients. Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes, and evaluate patient's plan of care. Develops treatment plan based on individualized patient needs. Provides evidence-based breastfeeding to new mothers. Provides training and updates for Women and Infant staff and physicians.

Required qualifications:
- California Registered Nurse License upon hire
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
- IBCLC certification upon hire (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)
- 2 years of Experience as a Lactation Consultant in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
- Experience in developing and implementing new programs and services.
- Experience in facilitating support groups and teaching.
- Computer experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of Experience in leadership.
- Experience in working with postpartum depression.
