Physical Requirements:Standing for long periods of time, repetitive motion, lifting or carring objects up to 25 lbs, Bloodborne/Airborne Pathogens/Recombinant DNA/Viral Vectors, Hazardous Chemicals or fumes.
Shift:Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm (40hrs/wk).
Job Summary:The Department of Toxicology & Cancer Biology is recruiting a Laboratory Technician Senior for the lab of Dr. Eunus Ali, Assistant Professor. This position will be responsible for both the research and administrative activities within the lab. A motivated lab technician will have the opportunity to expand their scientific and technical repertoire to advance their career options further.
Laboratory Technician Senior will support research activities in the lab by (1) preparing and maintaining various buffers, solutions, and reagents. (2) assisting PI by performing supervised research in the area of cell signaling and cancer metabolism. Research techniques examples include western blot analysis, mammalian cell culture, metabolomics and qPCR, among others. (3) Maintain mouse colony including setting up the breeding and performing genotyping. Administration: Lab Technician Senior will assist the investigator in placing orders, interact with departmental administrators, manage lab inventory, supplies, and resources, and day-to-day lab operation.
