Laboratory Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPIONSIBILITIES

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned as business needs require.

• Must be able to safety work in a chemical laboratory and pilot plant setting. This includes understanding and practicing the Company’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures.
• Prepare test matrices & test plans & work with internal & external customers to price and schedule test projects.
• Conduct material & process testing to support R&D, Quality Control, Engineering and Production Support functions.
• Perform raw material, intermediate and finished product testing and report results.
• Maintain notebooks and computer files in a neat and organized manner to facilitate data archive and retrieval.
• Maintain the lab equipment and calibrations as required to ensure accurate and consistent results.
• Conduct required testing for Environmental and Plant Utilities to ensure compliance to permit requirements.
• Participate in the safety and quality improvement activities in the pilot plant as applicable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• A minimum of an Associate degree in a science related field is preferred.
• 4-5 years practical, hands-on experience.
• Basic computer skills in MS Excel and MS Word.Ability to learn new software a plus.
• Must be able to read, write and perform simple mathematical functions. Basic understanding of statistics also a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead by example.
• Working knowledge of the chemistry and chemical processes.
• Must have the skills and experience to evaluate chemical process yields, material usage efficiency, cycle times, capacities, material purities, material & process control.
• Takes initiative and follows through on tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Willingness to grow with the company and accept new challenges.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
