Job Title: Spin Reagent Prep Technician - Newark

Department: Production Lab

Reports To: Laboratory Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Maintains a clean, safe work environment.

· Works safely, adheres to all safety policies & procedures; identifies/report & helps eliminate hazards.

· Prepares reagents according to specified procedures in a safe manner.

· Works closely with Spin Disk production to ensure the availability of reagents.

· Maintains the inventory of raw materials and reagents.

· Works with QC as needed.

· Assists in data generation, computer input, and analysis for troubleshooting projects.

· Completes routine performance testing of instruments and spin reagents.

· Maintains accurate notes in laboratory notebook and production records.

· Perform interference and stability tests on new and existing products.

· 12 Hour Shifts, working every other weekend.

Hours:

6:30 pm - 6:45 am - Working every other weekend.

Miscellaneous:

1. Participates in Operational Excellence activities, including but not limited to:

a. Operational Excellence aining and events such as kaizen or a 5-day event.

b. 5-S program as assigned.

c. DMAICs. Continuously looks for ways to improve both departments and own individual efficiencies and time management, as well as to improve any aspect of the Company’s operat ns and develops and implements DMAICs accordingly.

2. Notifies Supervisors/Managers of any production equipment, safety, personnel oblems, etc., and cooperate in resolving such issues. For example, request assistance when systems prevent the effic ent performance of duties or when a system fails.

3. Provides Supervisors/Managers with feedback to determine where additional training would b nefit and obtain additional training, as necessary.

4. Complies with l Company policies (i.e., personnel, safety, etc.)

5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

· Requires two years of college chemistry or equivalent laboratory experience.

· Experience with chemical hygiene and safety practices.

· Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment, e.g., analytical balance, pH meter, spectrophotometer, adjustable volume pipettor, and volumetric glassware.

· Must be able to prepare standard solutions by serial dilution.

· Must be able to abide by detailed reagent preparation procedures.

· Must be able to use compressed gas cylinders and vacuum lines safely.

· Requires computer proficiency for data entry into spreadsheets.

· Must maintain accurate laboratory batch records.

· Must have good communication skills and be able to work with other staff members, be organized and work independently.

· Must be able to work efficiently for timely task completion.

· Requires good color perception and ability to pass a color test.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

· Works indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.

· Handles various chemicals, some of which are hazardous.

· Requires good judgment, problem-solving, and communication proficiencies.

· Must have good color perception.

· Requires walking, standing, sitting, transporting up to 30 pounds, and good manual dexterity.
