This is a full-time summer position.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Exciting opportunity to delve into research on emerging federal, state and international PFAS regulations, contribute to SDS and product label compliance reviews, craft technical reports, and support sales and technical teams by actively engaging in Regulatory and Compliance meetings, all while reporting directly to a company Vice President.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research US Federal and State regulations regarding PFAS and relate how these regulations may impact MicroCare products. Compile and report the findings to the VP of Technology and Compliance.
  • Research International PFAS regulations and relate how these regulations may impact MicroCare products manufactured and sold internationally. Compile and report the findings to the VP of Technology and Compliance.
  • Research and report international reporting regulations for REACH, RoHs, Conflict Minerals, SCAQMD and other compliance issues that have evolved within the past 3 years.
  • Review SDS and product labels for compliance.
  • Write technical reports and prepare presentations to document research and findings for customer and internal review.
  • Assist the sales team and technical team by conducting research on customer inquiries.
  • Participate in Regulatory and Compliance Team meetings.
  • Promote incident free workplace by complying with safety policies and procedures and participating in company safety trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE:

  • Researching and interpreting environmental regulations
  • Writing reports to summarize findings and catalog resources
  • Presenting research and findings to regulatory team
  • Filing and organizing reports and regulations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree – in process course of study in STEM majors (chemical engineering, chemistry, biology, engineering, etc.) or public policy (environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainable development, political science, etc.)
  • Available to work a Monday through Friday schedule
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PP and SharePoint)
  • Expected graduation of December 2024- May 2025
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong communication (written and interpersonal) skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed a course in Environmental Law
  • Completed a course in Business Law
  • Familiarity with Federal Environmental Laws such as: Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Clean Air Act (CCA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)
  • Familiarity with International regulations such as: the Montreal Protocol and the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)
