Form of workEMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (TO-15) in Charlotte, NC. This is a hands-on role performing TO-15 testing and cleaning, shipping and maintaining canisters. This position is in a clean laboratory environment where everything is recorded and needs to be traceable.
Job Responsibilities:Analyze environmental samples via EPA TO-15
Calibrate and maintain GC-MS instrument
Clean canisters which are used to collect air samples
Calibrate flow controllers which fill the cans
Fill can orders, shipping cans (boxing up, printing labels, taking to loading dock for shipment)
Process returning orders by filling in forms/logbooks and using an in-house equipment tracking software program
Record all calibrations and cleanings into log books
Receive environmental samples and log-in/data entry Chain of Custody into LIMS system and shipping and handling
Inspect samples to ensure sample integrity is retained and that the packaging is not compromised
Generate analytical reports and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready report
Ensure that the final report is prepared within the required time frames and that the results are reported to the client in a timely manner
Assist with customer services client questions via phone and e-mail
Clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, faxing, assisting clients, scanning, mailing, etc. as necessary
Job Requirements:
High School Degree or equivalent
Must be proficient in MS Office especially Excel and typing
Previous experience in a mechanically related position is a plus
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks when given
Ability to work in independently
Mechanically inclined with good manual dexterity
Able to lift min of 40 lbs.
Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast paced environment
Must be organized and possess strong attention to detail
Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Must be a team player
Available Shift:
Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
