Labor Relations Manager 
Position can be based in Decatur, IL. Erlanger, KY. Cedar Rapids, IA. Kansas City or Lincoln, NE

This is a full-time, exempt level position.
ADM has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned and accomplished Labor Relations Manager to support our operations and site leadership on ADM's relationships and contracts with various labor unions across the country.
Overview of Position:
The Manager, Labor Relations, is responsible for maintaining and executing an efficient and effective Labor Relations strategy within ADM North America. This role will serve as a key labor negotiator, collaborating closely with local management, operational leadership, HR, and finance to secure labor harmony with contracts that are negotiated within the economic parameters determined by the company. The responsibilities include strategic planning with the internal partners, strong coordination and communication of language provisions, as well as thorough follow-through to ensure that negotiated contract provisions are implemented in a timely manner. The Manager, Labor Relations, is an individual contributor role working closely with Labor Relations peers and Human Resources Business Partners as well as operations leadership.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching Labor Relations issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives
  • Develops a Labor Relations strategy and ensures execution by the Human Resources Business Partners in the union facilities covering areas such as, but not limited to recruitment and selection, employee orientation, performance management, training and development, organizational change, communication programs, and industrial relations
  • Under supervision of the Director, HR & Labor Relations, North America, leads Union negations in the union facilities within the US
  • Actively guides and advises Human Resources Business Partners and plant leadership in case of grievances and other contract issues
  • Guides plant management and Human Resources Business Partners in union facilities by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and ensures adherence to these polices
  • Ensures comprehensive understanding of and adherence to all HR policies and labor contracts as well as external influences such as employment legislation and political inference
  • Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances
  • Develop external partnerships with third parties and maximize the quality of service and return on investment, this includes maintaining the relationship with (retained) law firms who support and represent ADM
  • Works with and networks with Human Resource teams across all NA ADM locations to ensure sharing of best practices, including but not limited to training and education in the space of Labor Relations
