Lab Technician

Description:

Searching for a QC Technician for a company that specializing in fast-acting lawn and garden products and repellents for invading bugs/pest control and weeds. They also provide some interior products to keep your home bug-free. The Quality Lab is situated within a national manufacturing/distribution site in Vinita Park (near Bridgeton) and is a multi- building distribution center as well. The quality team overall is responsible for testing large batches (large batches- 1000s of gallons of product at a time) and testing every bottle as it comes off the line. Once determining whether it is up to spec or not, they are responsible for providing feedback to the batching/operator team as it relates to the ratios of chemicals and additives going into the product. This requires them to do some math by hand to work backwards and determine why it's not up to spec. Example- "we need to add more of this chemical, and less of this one, to result in the proper ratio of ingredients so it meets our quality standards."

The Lab Technicians will provide support to the Quality Department as it relates to reporting, sample management, data entry, and assistance with basic testing required from the tanks (Turbidity, clarity, etc- physical property testing mostly). They will be spending 80% of their time in a cubicle/office environment and 20% in the Quality Lab or manufacturing floor. They will be entering sample data into SAP (don't need to know SAP coming in but any type of database management like Excel would be applicable). Will be responsible for some basic math and computations on the fly, Gant charts, etc. Reporting and lab data entry is a very big component of this role and the most important.
