We are now looking for a Lab Technician for our Washougal, WA chemical manufacturing site. This position is responsible for all of the daily operations required in the QA lab. The Laboratory Technician is expected to be able to safely, efficiently, and accurately operate all laboratory equipment and perform all procedures and laboratory operations. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing multiple and simultaneous tasks and projects to on-time completion.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Perform quality control tests on all production samples and verify that all products and incoming raw materials meet quality specifications.
- Maintain, file, and archive all lab records, including QA lab notebooks, products, sales & raw material specs and COAs, production work orders, batch sheets & retention samples.
- Ensure the QA laboratory meets ISO 9001 and Kemira quality requirements including the approval of testing and calibration procedures.
- Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot & write procedures for instrumentation and product testing.
- Assist the EHSQ Specialist with procedure development and quality review of new products and raw materials.
- Assist production with formula corrections for off-spec batches.
- Assist with special laboratory projects or other projects as required by the Plant Manager.
- Record QC results in SAP and generate Certificates of Analysis; complete other related transactions.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping.
- Must be capable of working primarily independently in the lab, but as an important member of the production team.
What you'll bring to the team:
- Minimum 2 years of college-related coursework in science or engineering and/or at least 2 years of analytical laboratory experience.
- Previous industrial/chemical manufacturing laboratory experience would be considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills both spoken and written.
- Comfortable with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc). Previous experience with SAP would be an asset.
- Collaborative team player and problem solver.
