Lab Technician

Key Responsibilities

·        Perform analytical lab testing of product samples

·        Maintain and calibrate lab equipment

·        Perform sanitation verification inspections on processing equipment

·        Verify finished product compliance to specification including packaging and labels

·        Manifest lot numbers of raw materials

·        Monitor and adjust waste water pH for regulatory compliance

·        Maintain accurate lab and production records

·        Create labels for finished product and washout

·        Support HACCP and pre-requisite programs to maintain food safety standards

·        Support plant audit ready status for Corporate, GMP, government agencies, or other third party audits

·        Work with various plant personnel to maintain all quality standards

·        Report and investigate quality related incidents

Selection Criteria

Education

·         High School Diploma

Experience

·        2 or more years of relevant experience is required in food processing and/or laboratory setting

Other

·        Good verbal and written communication skills

·        Working knowledge of Excel and Word

·        Detail oriented and organized

·        Self-motivated

·        Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

Physical demands:

·        Requires extensive walking and standing

·        Extensive talking and listening

·        Requires use of hands and fingers to handle and feel the product

·        Requires reaching with hands and arms

·        Requires to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

·        Requires lifting up to 25 pounds

·        Occasionally required to climb or balance and taste or smell

·        Exposure to fumes or airborne particles and strong or caustic chemicals

·        Occasionally exposed to vibration and outdoor weather conditions.

·       Noise level in plant environment is usually loud
